About

Tingguo Zheng is a professor of economics at Gregory and Paula Chow Institute for Studies in Economics, School of Economics, and Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics, Xiamen University. He is from Wenling, Zhejiang Province, China, and holds a BA in Management and a PhD in Economics from Jilin University.

He is dedicated to teaching and scientific research in quantitative economics and has made significant contributions to macro policy analysis, macroeconomic forecasting, mixed-frequency data modeling, time series analysis, etc. He has published about 90 papers in Chinese and English journals such as Economic Research Journal (经济研究), China Economic Quarterly (经济学<季刊>), Management World (管理世界), Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, International Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Multivariate Analysis, Journal of Time Series Analysis, etc. He has also won the honorary titles of Young Scholars of Yangtze River Scholars of the Ministry of Education, Top Young Talents of the National Ten Thousand Talents Plan, and Leading Talents of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Fujian Province.

Professor Zheng and his research team are currently focused on macroeconomic monitoring and forecasting, large-scale economic system modeling and analysis, and macroeconomic risk management. The team and partners have strong professional knowledge and are committed to utilizing economic big data, textual data, and financial data to perform solid and highly innovative research on macroeconomic operation and policy analysis.

In recent years, he has developed two monitoring systems. One is the CoQuant real-time economic and financial monitoring system developed in 2018, which has received widespread attention from both academia and the industry. Another is the Real-Time Tracker of Macroeconomy for the Center for Macroeconomic Research, Xiamen University developed in 2024.

His research interests include but are not limited to Macroeconomic and policy analysis, Maceconometrics, Financial Econometrics, Time Series Analysis, and Big Data Methods and Analysis.
